About the Bill

For a Washington State Boys & Men Commission to be established, the state legislature must pass a bill and the governor must sign it.

During the 2026 legislative session, neither House Bill 2401 nor House Bill 2461 passed, meaning that legislation for creating a Boys & Men Commission fell short for the fifth straight year. Representative April Berg’s House Bill 2401 passed the House Committee on State Government & Tribal Relations (5 to 2 vote) and the House Committee on Appropriations (22 to 8 vote), but it was not brought up for a vote on the floor or the House of Representatives by the February 17 cutoff point.

We are continually building momentum and political support for the idea that everyone stands to benefit from the existence of a state commission tasked with improving the health and well-being of our boys, male youth, and men.
